Unthinkably, after returning with an album following more than two decades of silence, Resorte is ready to release its second record in just two years. Mi Beat Sonando Como King Kong arrives as confirmation: the band hasn’t just come back — it’s more alive and ferocious than ever.
When República Zombie appeared in 2024, it took everyone by surprise. Its modern sound and lyrics instantly connected with the essence that defined República de Ciegos, the legendary 1997 debut. Both works share the group’s signature duality: the tension between hip-hop energy and metal’s force. It was a record that looked back to reinterpret the present, balancing memory, critique, and evolution with brutal maturity.
However, Mi Beat Sonando Como King Kong lands differently: it’s an EP that sounds grittier, more alive, more direct. Designed for the stage — to make people jump, shout, and feel the beat in their bones. A record with cadence, with flow, and with the DNA Resorte has kept burning for thirty years.
Like República Zombie, this new work has been built from its singles. First came No Nos Detienen, a statement of intent. Then Mi Beat Sonando Como King Kong, which gives the EP its name and lit up the platforms with its crushing groove. And in just a few days, Mad Max will see the light — perhaps the most powerful track on the record — already available as a preview through the band’s official channels.
The EP is completed with Como de que no, a cut that brings Resorte’s sound closer to hip-hop, and Ponte Perro, where the group collaborates with Argentine artist Muñeki77a on a powerful, distinctive track that adds a new color to the project and closes this release with force. In addition, the band will release a special cassette edition, a nod to their origins and to their most loyal followers.
So get ready: on November 13 you’ll be able to listen to the new EP by Resorte in full — a work that promises to set everything on fire and make it clear that this return wasn’t nostalgia, but evolution.
